RONDA HOT AIR BALLOON

From Ronda a town easily accessible from anywhere on the Costa del sol, you can take excursions in a hot air balloon this is a magnificent alternative to discover the natural beauties of the mountain region Sierra des Las Nieves. You will be able to watch rare predators such as eagles, vultures or hawks. This unforgettable experience starts early at dawn and lasts for about an hour and a half. Back on safe ground, a hearty Andalusian breakfast is offered with quail’s eggs, ham and other products of the region.

RACE TRACK COSTA DEL SOL

Mijas

The Hipódromo Costa del Sol is situated just inland from Fuengirola - 2km from the main coastal highway, the E15/A7 and is well signposted. Look for the signs at Km 207 in Fuengirola and at Km 201 in La Cala de Mijas

The Costa del Sol Racecourse occupies a hill-top site 2km inland from Fuengirola. It boasts a 1700m fibrous sand track (1 Mile 1 Furlong in old money!) and inside this 1600m sand track (1 Mile). At present the horse’s race clockwise around the track with the finish central to the terrace.

The terrace has extensive track-side tiered seating and behind this is a wide palm lined terrace leading to the bars, restaurants, betting terminals and the VIP suite. Most areas are fitted with closed circuit television to allow both live racing and replays to be viewed in comfort.

The course has stabling for 450 racehorses as well as additional facilities for show-jumpers.

Currently 10 licensed trainers are based on the course with the track being utilised as a training gallop during non-racing days. These trainers provide training for more than 150 owners with stables varying from 1 to 20 horses.

The course is served by taxis from Mijas and with an official taxi stop outside the gates, taxis are routinely available at the end of each race meeting.
